Join educator Tina Urman, faculty member at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies, as she reviews a series of recent literary best selling novels, while discussing the common thread woven into these works that captures our imagination, attention and sensibilities.

Colum McCann’s Let the Great World Spin paints a picture of New York City, 1974; a tightrope walker is gallivanting between the Twin Towers hundreds of metres above the ground. From there we follow the lives of a radical young Irish monk, Park Avenue mothers grieving the losses of their sons in Vietnam and a 38-year-old grandmother / prostitute; their lives and their worlds colliding as they are drawn together by the tightrope walker’s “artistic crime of the century”.
